Day 1 HOME TO GOLD COAST

Welcome to our 3 day Gold Coast tour! On arrival to the Gold Coast we make our way to the Imperial Hotel for a very special high tea lunch. Set in an exclusive waterfront locale, every aspect of architecture, furnishings and ornamentation reflects an ambiance of pure glamour. Our next stop will be Skypoint, situated on level 77 of the iconic Q1 building. Here we experience unsurpassed 360˚ views of the city. We then check into our hotel before our special welcome dinner cruise. Boarding the Spirit of Elston, we enjoy a delicious dinner and fantastic night on the peaceful waterways of the Gold Coast. Cruising the expansive canal system to open Broadwater, take in the views of the glittering skyline and local icons such as the Marina Mirage and Surfers Paradise, while enjoying dinner prepared by the onboard chef using only the best local seasonal produce.

Day 2 GOLD COAST

This morning we start the day at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to over 1400 birds, mammals and reptiles. We spend some time looking through the Sanctuary, where you can board the miniature steam train, see a variety of shows, and come face to face with some of the incredible animals. We then meander back up the coast to Northcliffe Surf Club for a relaxed lunch with uninterrupted views of the ocean. After lunch we stop into Home of the Arts (HOTA), the largest public gallery outside a capital city in Australia. The gallery is a must-see destination on the Gold Coast, that facilitates and shares new ideas and experiences in visual art – both indoors and out. The remainder of the day will at leisure for personal sightseeing and shopping.

Day 3 GOLD COAST TO HOME via TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN

Before departing the Gold Coast, be inspired by the unbelievable at Ripley’s Believe It or Not!* The Odditorium features the largest collection of the odd and unusual from all corners of the world. Journey through the strange, bizarre, and downright unbelievable. We farewell the Gold Coast and make tracks for home via Tamborine Mountain, which sits on the edge of the escarpment behind the Gold Coast. Tamborine Mountain is really a collective term for several small villages and settlements stretching along the ridge of the mountain range. Late morning we arrive at Cedar Creek Estate. Our guide takes us on a tour of the Glow Worm Caves, which consist of two large chambers interlinked by tunnels. The first chamber is the “presentation cave”, where we will be shown an audio-visual display on the glow worms. This chamber is complete with very realistic formation (speleothems), such as stalagmites and stalactites, water features and flow stone. From this cave, we will be guided through the magical “glow worm cave” filled with thousands of glow worms. We enjoy a tastings and lunch at the estate before we head for home, completing a wonderful break to the Gold Coast.
